Showing UNIX Hidden Files  -  KB Article #1094

Related Articles --

You can show hidden files on your UNIX/Linux server by changing the LIST command parameters. Parameters can be added to the LIST command in the "Advanced | Connection" settings for your Site Profile:

  • Open FTP Voyager.
  • Select the site you're configuring in the Site Profile Manager.
  • Select the "Advanced" button.
  • Select the "Connection" option in the left hand tree.
  • On the right enter "-al" (without the quotes) into the "Extra LIST Parameters". This tells UNIX that you want to see all files in the "long" listing format.

From this point forward FTP Voyager will send "-al" to the server for each directory listing. FTP Voyager will give you the results.
