Serv-U includes a set of command-line options which can alter the function of the FTP server without requiring access to the GUI portion of Serv-U. To execute command line options, first call the .exe file and then the appropriate switch - i.e., C:\Program Files\RhinoSoft\Serv-U\Serv-U.exe -stop to stop the Serv-U engine. These command-line options are displayed below:
Serv-U Engine (Serv-U.exe) Options
- Serv-U -shutdown (shuts down Serv-U and the Serv-U Tray on Linux)
- Serv-U.exe -shutdown (shuts down Serv-U and the Serv-U Tray on Windows)
- -makeservice (installs Serv-U as a service if this was not done during installation)
- -removeservice (removes Serv-U from system services)
- -startmakeservice (installs Serv-U as a system service and restarts it as a service)
- -startremoveservice (removes Serv-U system service and restarts it as a application)
Serv-U Tray Icon (Serv-U-Tray.exe) Options
- -administrator (starts the Management Console)
Serv-U Setup (Serv-U-Setup.exe) Options
- -stop (closes Serv-U.exe and Serv-U-Tray.exe and shows a confirmation dialogue)
- -import (imports new users from a CSV file as described at KB Article #1716
