Configuring PocoMail to Use Zaep  -  KB Article #1308

After installing and configuring Zaep, your email client must also be configured to use Zaep. To learn more about account configuration in Zaep, please click here (article 1307).

To configure PocoMail to use Zaep, follow these steps:

  1. Start PocoMail.
  2. Select "Tools | Accounts Setup".
  3. Double click on the mail account you want to configure to use Zaep, or select the account, then click the "Edit" button.
  4. Ensure the "Incoming Mail Settings" check box is selected.
  5. Enter the IP address or domain name of your Zaep server. If Zaep is installed on the same machine as PocoMail, you can use 127.0.0.1 (or localhost).
  6. Follow the server name or IP address by a colon and the POP3 proxy port number used by Zaep (i.e., localhost:1100). The default port number used by Zaep is 1100. Use the value you entered during setup, or whatever value you entered for the POP3 Proxy Port.
  7. Change your Username to your actual email address (for example username@domain.com). NOTE: This MUST be the same as the Zaep account name you intend to use.
  8. Make sure the server type is POP. PocoMail Incoming
  9. Select the "Outgoing" category.
  10. Ensure the "Account Server Settings" check box is selected.
  11. Enter the IP address or domain name of your Zaep server. If Zaep is installed on the same machine as PocoMail, you can use 127.0.0.1 (or localhost).
  12. Follow the server name by a colon and the SMTP proxy port number used by Zaep (i.e., localhost:2500). The default port number used by Zaep is 2500. Use the value you entered during setup, or whatever value you entered for the SMTP Proxy Port. PocoMail Outgoing
  13. Select the "OK" button when finished.
  14. Repeat the above steps for each account you want to configure.
