Zaep determines what messages are available for your email account during the connection or login process to your POP3 email server. If your account has a lot of pending email, spam messages, the process required for Zaep to check out these messages could be time consuming, if you have many messages pending.

The solution is to increase your timeout values or the amount of time your email client should wait before timing out. In Outlook Express, this setting is found under the "Advanced" tab for your account, as found in "Tools | Accounts". Increase the "Server Timeouts" value to the large value allowed.
