Uploading Pictures to eBay using FTP Voyager - KB Article #1641Related Articles --
Welcome eBay Users. This tutorial is designed to help you to upload pictures for viewing on your eBay auction pages. Step-by-step instructions show how to use FTP Voyager to upload pictures of your auction items.
Step 1 - Download and Install FTP Voyager®
Download FTP Voyager to a temporary directory. After the download is complete run the fvsetup.exe file from the temporary directory. The FTP Voyager installation wizard steps you through the process of installation.
Step 2 - Find Web Space
Your pictures must be stored on a computer that is connected to the Internet full time. You might find that you need more images for your auction than the one eBay includes with your listing.
Most Internet Service Providers include web space as part of their service. Check with your ISP to see if you have space available. Once you have web space for your pictures, remember the location (URL), then upload your pictures from your computer to their FTP server using FTP Voyager.
You can also use DNS4Me to host images using the DNS4Me web server.
Step 3 - Put Your Pictures in Your Computer
There are many ways to get pictures into your computer. Here are some suggestions:
- Take pictures with your digital camera. These will already be in a form usable by your computer.
- Use a scanner to make digital copies of your standard photos
- Pay a third party to process your film and deliver your image to the Internet.
Step 4 - Uploading Your Pictures
For instructions regarding how to upload files to the Internet read our Uploading and Maintaining Your Web Site with FTP Voyager guide.
