Windows Can Cache NTFS Permissions - KB Article #2029Related Articles --
By default, Windows users and Active Directory users in Serv-U are subject to their normal NTFS permissions set. However, in some cases Windows may cache NTFS permissions after changes such as security group membership updates. In this case there is a short time before the permissions are applied through Serv-U.
To speed this process along, restart the Serv-U service using the "Windows Control Panel | Administrative Tools | Services" menu, right clicking the "Serv-U File Server" and choosing "Restart". This will force Windows to provide updated permissions to Serv-U.
