FTP Compression (MODE Z) - KB Article #2099Related Articles -- 1706
By default, FTP Voyager uses the MODE Z command to compress FTP traffic using "zlib", a lossless compression codec that greatly increases effective transfer rates especially when transferring files such as text, databases and documents.
Adjusting Compression Settings
Compression settings are available at the global level ("Tools" ribbon, "Options" or "Scheduler Options" button) or individual FTP and FTPS site profiles. They are found on the main "Connection" node, under the "Compression" section. You may use these to enable or disable compression and set the level of compression used (higher values indicate more compression).
